I have had a painting in a gallery in Ginza (Tokyo) since
early November of last year.
It is an exhibition of glass paintings, this was the first
one that I completed using techniques taught to me by Michiyo Ishikawa. I am unhappy with the way it turned
out, mostly because it was my first time doing both reverse glass painting and
gold leaf gilding. I am still
learning the techniques, and it is far less forgiving than painting on canvas.
However, Michiyo insisted
that I include it in the show.
Though I do not feel that the work is up to my standards, it does feel good to have a piece in a gallery in Japan!
